In the National Geographic book titled “The Mystery of Time-Humanity’s Quest for Order and Measure” by John Langone begins with his first chapter called “Time: The Elusive Concept” quoting the above by St. Augustine of Hippo.  St. Augustine of Hippo is known as a fourth-century church father and philosopher.  He describes him as one who “pondered the nature of time, even he, who had much to say about many things, expressed puzzlement”.  He continues with…
“Who,” he asked, “can even in thought comprehend it, so as to utter a word about it?…My soul is on fire to know this most intricate enigma.”  Those words resonate today. Of all the scientific intangibles that shape our lives, time is arguably the most elusive–and the most powerful.”
clock & bible smMy reply to the quote above concerning, “Who can even in thought comprehend it, so as to utter a word about it?”,  would simply be and is utterly true…when the pen is in the hand of the Lord.
